President Obama and Gov. Romney are both promising to add jobs, jobs, and more jobs to the economy. That’s fine and well, but what neither of them mention is that people with disabilities are traditionally un- and underemployed regardless of the economy.
These sorry statistics, regardless of who is in office, created the need for National Disability Employment Awareness Month (NDEA).Held each October, NDEAM is a national cmapaign that raises awareness about disability employment issues and celebrates the many and varied contributions of America’s workers with disabilities. Since the Job Training & Placement Report (JTPR) newsletter exists to promote employment “for professionals who support employment for people with disabilities,” JTPR strives to expand the reach and scope of this important observance whenever possible. For more information, check out the JTPR link at www.impact-publications.com For a free sample PDF of JTPR, contact the editor at firstname.lastname@example.org
Take the opportunity in October to spread the word about the need to employ more people with disabilities!
