Goodwill employee Anthony Cornell has won the Undercover Boss Employee of the Season contest. Anthony was chosen from 6 other finalists to win the contest— part of the TV show Undercover Boss on CBS. (Anthony’s grand prize earnings total $5,000.)
Anthony runs a career connections center in Winston-Salem, NC where he and his staff help people in their community expand their job skills and build their careers — a very important job especially with high rates of unemployment.
Through Anthony’s hard work and leadership, he has helped more than 400 people earn jobs in his community in the last year. Cornell was nominated for the CBS.com contest by colleague and friend Tanika Hawkins.
Anthony knows what it’s like not to have work. Diagnosed with cerebral palsy at two years old, Anthony didn’t let his disability or using a wheelchair stop him from helping others or serving his community. He started working at the Winston-Salem Goodwill 14 years ago as a part-time employee and worked his way up to his current position as manager.
